Odoo.

Odoo Enterprise and Community implementation engineered as production ERP, not as a vendor-led configuration handover. Greenfield deployments, custom modules, OWL frontend extensions, version migrations (v15 → v17 / v18), and the integration substrate that connects Odoo to e-commerce, banks, payment gateways, and the long tail of operational systems mid-market enterprise actually runs on.

The problem

Most Odoo programs accumulate customizations that block the next upgrade.

The pattern across mid-market Odoo engagements: a partner ships a v14 deployment with twenty custom modules that monkey-patch core. Two years later v17 is out, the customer wants the new accounting features, and the upgrade quote is bigger than the original implementation. Every customization that bypassed the published Odoo API is now a migration cost the customer didn’t scope. The platform isn’t the problem; the implementation discipline is.

Prosigns ships Odoo with version-upgrade discipline as primary scope. Custom modules written against published APIs only: no core monkey-patching. OWL extensions, controllers, and inheriting views, not duplicate templates. Every customization has an upgrade-impact note in writing. Migrations from older Odoo versions (and from QuickBooks, Tally, SAP Business One) are phased and reconciled. Odoo.sh, on-prem, or hybrid hosting decided against the actual workload. We stay through the first quarterly close.

Where it ships

6 use cases, in production.

Specific applications we’ve built and operated. Not speculative: every example below is grounded in a real shipped engagement.

  • 01

    Greenfield Odoo Enterprise deployment

New deployment for mid-market companies covering Sales, CRM, Accounting, Inventory, Manufacturing (MRP), Purchase, HR, and e-commerce. Multi-company, multi-currency, multi-warehouse where the workload requires it.

  • 02

Odoo Community + custom enterprise features

Where licensing economics push toward Community, we build the enterprise-tier features the customer actually needs (advanced reports, dashboards, multi-currency tooling) as custom modules. With full version-upgrade discipline.

  • 03

    Custom modules + OWL extensions

Custom modules with proper inheritance, OWL component extensions for frontend, controllers for REST endpoints, QWeb report templates. Industry-specific workflows for manufacturing, retail, services, and healthcare.

  • 04

    Zero

    lost transactions in migration

    Odoo version migrations

Migration from v13 / v14 / v15 / v16 to v17 or v18. Custom-module compatibility audit, deprecated-API replacement, view inheritance rebuild, theme port, and reconciled cutover. Documented rollback per workload.

  • 05

    Odoo integration substrate

Integration to e-commerce (Shopify, Magento, custom), payment gateways (Stripe, Adyen, regional providers), banks (CAMT.053, MT940, custom file formats), 3PL warehouses, EDI partners, and BI/warehouse layers (Snowflake, BigQuery).

  • 06

Replace QuickBooks, Tally, SAP B1, Zoho

Migration from QuickBooks Enterprise / Online, Tally Prime, SAP Business One, Zoho Books / CRM, or in-house systems. Catalog → customers → vendors → open balances → historical transactions, each migrated and reconciled before the next.

How we engage

5 phases, named in the SOW.

Each phase has a deliverable, an owner, and an acceptance criterion. Not slogans, operating rules.

  1. 01

    Controller-led discovery

Discovery includes the controller and finance team, not just operations. Chart-of-accounts, multi-entity model, audit requirements, close-cycle cadence, and statutory reporting (GST, VAT, IFRS where applicable) surface before customization decisions are made.

  2. 02

    Customization with upgrade discipline

Custom modules written against published Odoo APIs only: no monkey-patching of core. OWL extensions, view inheritance, controllers, and QWeb reports following Odoo conventions. Every custom module has a v-next migration plan in writing.

  3. 03

    Hosting choice against workload

Odoo.sh wins for most operating profiles: release-train automation, branch deploys, daily backups, and a real SLA. On-prem wins for data-residency or heavy on-prem integration. Hybrid where the customer already runs Kubernetes. We tell you which fits.

  4. 04

    Integration before go-live

Bank, payment, e-commerce, and 3PL integrations designed and tested before go-live. Idempotent webhooks, reconciliation jobs in CI, explicit fallback for partner outages. The first month-end runs against the full integrated substrate.

  5. 05

    Operate through the first close

We stay through the first quarterly close, and the first statutory filing where applicable. Runbooks for month-end, year-end, and statutory reporting written and rehearsed before handoff. Then: Managed Services or documented handoff with 60-day shadow.

Common questions

Asked before the first call.

  1. 01

    Odoo Enterprise or Community?

Enterprise wins when the customer needs the modules locked behind the Enterprise license (advanced accounting, MRP II, full HR, e-commerce features, mobile apps) and the per-user pricing fits the operating profile. Community wins when the team can absorb building the gaps as custom modules and the cost-of-license outweighs cost-of-development. We’ll model both options against your actual user count and module mix.

  2. 02

    Odoo.sh, on-prem, or hybrid?

Odoo.sh wins for most operating profiles: release-train automation, branch deploys, daily backups, restore testing, and a real platform SLA. On-prem wins when data-residency is non-negotiable, heavy on-prem integration is in scope, or the customer already runs strong Kubernetes operations. Hybrid where on-prem masters and Odoo.sh hosts read-only portals. We’ll tell you which fits.

  3. 03

How do you handle Odoo version upgrades?

Every custom module is reviewed for v-next compatibility before we ship it. Upgrades follow a documented runbook: spin up a v-next staging branch, port custom modules and OWL extensions, run the regression pack, reconcile against production, then cut over with a rollback path. We don’t leave customers stranded on EOL versions or stack up unmaintainable customizations.

  4. 04

Can you migrate from QuickBooks, Tally, SAP B1, Zoho?

Yes: all four are in our active portfolio, plus older Odoo versions and in-house systems. Phased migration: catalog → customers → vendors → open balances → historical transactions, each reconciled before the next. Cutover with parallel-run for at least one month-end. Documented rollback per data domain.

  5. 05

Do you write custom Odoo modules?

Yes: custom modules with proper inheritance, OWL component extensions, controllers for REST endpoints, QWeb PDF reports, and full Odoo conventions. Modules that monkey-patch core or bypass published APIs aren’t modules we ship. They’re a year-three migration cost we won’t hand the customer.

  6. 06

What about statutory reporting and compliance?

GST (India), VAT (UAE, Saudi, EU), e-invoicing (where mandated), IFRS-compatible chart-of-accounts, SOX-aligned audit trails. CITADEL co-pilots compliance scope from kickoff. Real audit logs, not application logs labeled as audit logs. Localization packs from Odoo plus customer-specific extensions where the standard pack falls short.

  7. 07

What does an Odoo engagement cost?

Discovery + ADR set: 2–4 weeks, $25K–$70K. Greenfield Enterprise deployment (single entity, mid-market): 3–5 months, $100K–$350K. Multi-entity / custom-heavy / e-commerce-integrated: $300K–$900K. Migration from SAP B1 / Zoho / in-house: $250K–$800K. Odoo.sh / Enterprise license passes through at platform pricing. Managed Services: $10K–$50K monthly retainer depending on user count and integration depth.

  8. 08

    Are you an Odoo partner?

Engagements run with Odoo Partner-tier access through partner relationships. We’ll be explicit on the SOW which work runs through which channel, what license discounts apply, and how partner-tier support escalations route.
