Product · Enterprise Hospital Management Information System

HMIS. One platform for every hospital in the chain, in every country.

HMIS unifies clinical care, department operations, workforce, finance and inventory across a multi-country hospital chain, with one patient record from admission to discharge. Every hospital shares the patient index, staff and drug catalogs and group reporting, while each branch keeps its own workflows, currency and regulatory settings.

What it covers

6 modules, one record.

  • Patient-centric core

Master Patient Index, registration and ADT across branches, doctor-wise appointments and live OPD queues, EMR with vitals, SOAP notes, coded diagnoses, allergies and medication history, referrals and telemedicine, and a patient portal for visits, results, bills and records.

  • Critical care and specialty units

ICU vitals, ventilator and infusion tracking with critical-alert escalation; CCU cardiac flow sheets; HDU step-down monitoring; NICU linked to the maternity record; acuity-based emergency triage; OT scheduling with the WHO surgical safety checklist and full case logging.

  • Pharmacy and medication safety

Central, ICU, ER and OPD pharmacies on one drug record: formulary, procurement and stock valuation, controlled drugs with dual sign-off, interaction checks, and an eMAR that enforces the five rights at the bedside.

  • Surgical and maternity workflow

Pre-op, intra-op and post-op stages with consent, anesthesia record and implants used; antenatal linkage, partograph and fetal monitoring, and a linked mother-and-newborn discharge.

  • Workforce management

Doctor credentialing across countries and licences, multi-branch schedules and revenue-share rules; ward rosters and nurse-to-patient ratios; multi-country statutory payroll, leave, licensing alerts, CME and appraisals.

  • Finance and inventory

One patient invoice from every department, insurance pre-authorisation and TPA claims, multi-currency collections, audited discounts, and P&L roll-up at branch, country and group level. Requisition to payment with batch, lot and expiry tracking and auto-reorder.

What makes it different

Designed for the way the business actually runs.

  • Shared identity at group level: Master Patient Index, doctor credentialing and financial consolidation
  • Operational data held per country or branch to satisfy local data-residency law, consolidated into group reporting
  • Local currency, tax rules, language and regulatory reporting configured per country
  • Role-based access scoped to group, country and branch, mandatory two-factor authentication, immutable audit logs on every record
  • Modular architecture that scales branch by branch and can split into services as the chain grows

Common questions

Asked before a demo.

Deployment, data, integration and licensing questions we hear on the first call about HMIS.

  1. 01

Is HMIS built for a single hospital or a hospital group?

HMIS is designed for hospital groups: a group, country, branch and department hierarchy is built into every record. A single hospital can run it, but the value is in shared identity across branches: one Master Patient Index, group-wide doctor credentialing and consolidated finance.

  2. 02

How does HMIS handle data residency across countries?

Operational patient data is held per country or branch to satisfy local data-residency law, and residency is enforced at the infrastructure level rather than by policy alone. Group reporting consolidates across countries without moving the underlying records.

  3. 03

Does HMIS integrate with lab analyzers, PACS and insurers?

Yes. HL7 and FHIR interfaces connect lab analyzers and PACS/RIS systems, and open APIs connect insurers, third-party administrators and national health registries.

  4. 04

Which clinical areas does HMIS cover?

Registration and ADT, OPD queues and appointments, EMR with vitals, SOAP notes and coded diagnoses, ICU, CCU, HDU, NICU, emergency triage and operating theatres, pharmacy with eMAR, surgical and maternity workflows, and a patient portal. Workforce, finance and inventory modules sit on the same record.

  5. 05

How is HMIS licensed and priced?

Pricing is quoted per group after a scoping call, because the number of branches, countries and modules drives both the licence and the rollout effort. There is no published per-bed list price. Book a demo and a senior engineer will return a written proposal.

  6. 06

What security and compliance controls are included?

Role-based access scoped to group, country and branch, mandatory two-factor authentication, and immutable audit logs on every record. Data protection is HIPAA and GDPR-class, and Prosigns brings regulated-healthcare delivery experience including HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2 and NIST 800-53.

  7. 07

Can HMIS be rolled out one branch at a time?

Yes. The modular architecture is designed to scale branch by branch, and can be split into services as the chain grows, so a group can pilot in one hospital before extending to the rest of a country and then to other countries.
