About the role
CORTEX ships production AI to enterprise: fraud detection, clinical decision support, agentic workflows, and the eval discipline production AI requires. We're hiring senior engineers (G7+) who have shipped LLM applications into production and want to do it under the eval, governance, and compliance frame regulated industries actually use.
You'll join a department that's deliberately senior-only: every engineer on client work has six-plus years of practice, every engagement has a department lead co-pilot, and every model that ships has SR 11-7-aligned documentation produced as a side-effect of building. The discipline is the differentiator.
What you’ll do
- Architect and ship production RAG, agentic, and LLM-integrated systems for enterprise clients
- Co-author SR 11-7-aligned model documentation and eval harnesses on regulated engagements
- Embed with client engineering teams, your code goes into their repos under their CI/CD
- Mentor G6 engineers in CORTEX through architectural review and code review on client work
- Co-pilot department-led engagements alongside the CORTEX practice lead on G8+ deals
What we look for
- 6+ years of production software engineering, with 3+ years shipping ML / AI
- Production experience with at least one frontier LLM provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Bedrock, Vertex)
- Eval discipline: built ground-truth datasets, run scoring in CI, debugged regressions
- Comfortable in Python and at least one other production language (TypeScript / Go / Java)
- Track record of shipping into regulated environments or with audit-defensible operating discipline
Nice to have
- Healthcare / financial services / fintech production AI experience
- Hands-on with formal verification, agentic frameworks (LangGraph / CrewAI), or self-hosted LLM stacks
- Open-source contributions in the AI / ML / eval ecosystem
- Speaking experience at engineering conferences
